Clinician attitudes and practices on pregnancy planning and care in cystic fibrosis

Health topics respondents identified as extremely important to discuss with pregnant people with CF and percentage of respondents extremely comfortable managing specific health topic, respectively, n = 62.

Dr. Traci Kazmerski and her team looked at clinician attitudes and practices on pregnancy planning and care in cystic fibrosis (CF) and found that:

  • As people with CF are living longer, more are considering pregnancy
  • Clinicians should be initiating discussions surrounding pregnancy early and often
  • Variability in CF clinician comfort and management with pregnancy care in CF exists
  • Future studies evaluating the maternal-fetal effects of CF therapies are needed
