Leslie Pierce (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate at North Carolina State University researching the intersections of gender, race, and body size. Her dissertation focuses on bariatric surgery and related inequalities. Leslie has a background in fat studies, bringing this perspective to her public health and reproductive rights research and activism. She works as a researcher at CONVERGE on studies related to reproductive health. Outside of her work at CONVERGE, she enjoys stargazing, traveling, and bowling with her team, the gutter gays.
