April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the University of Pittsburgh and its partners have a full schedule of events planned.
We encourage you to hear the stories of survivors; learn more about how you can help prevent sexual assault, harassment, and violence; and get help educating and informing your neighbors, colleagues, and friends.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month was established in 2001 by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, which was a project of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
This year’s national theme for the commemoration is “Drawing Connections: Prevention Demands Equity.”
The University’s signature events include a resource fair on April 10 and the survivor march on April 16, which will include representatives from four other Pittsburgh universities.
